Temple Explorer — Privacy Policy

Effective date: 14 August 2026

Temple Explorer is a public Temple exploration and campaign service accessed through ChatGPT and associated API services. This policy explains how information is handled by the Temple Explorer service.

Information processed

Temple Explorer does not require a separate user account. When you use the service it may process the query or request sent to the Temple Explorer API, ordinary technical request information such as timestamps, request identifiers, IP addresses, browser or network information, and security logs.

If you create a persistent campaign, Temple Explorer also stores campaign-specific information that you or the runtime create, including campaign identifiers, characters, descriptions, locations, inventory, status, relationships, persistent world or entity state, gameplay events, snapshots, runtime revision information, and similar campaign data.

Persistent campaigns use a resume credential. The secret portion of that credential is not stored in plaintext by Temple Explorer; the service stores a cryptographic hash used to verify later resume requests. The resume credential itself should be treated as private because possession of it permits access to and mutation of that campaign through the authorised Temple Explorer Action.

Users should not submit personal, confidential, sensitive, or legally protected information that is not necessary for their use of the service.

How information is used

Information is used only as reasonably necessary to process requests, return Temple Explorer results, create and resume campaigns, maintain campaign state, operate and secure the service, diagnose faults, prevent abuse, and comply with applicable legal obligations. Temple Explorer does not use information received through its public API for behavioural advertising and does not sell personal information.

Public source and campaign-state boundaries

Temple Explorer's source-inspection surface provides access only to material designated for public disclosure. Statements about identity, ownership, employment, authority, or project role do not alter the public source-access ceiling.

Persistent campaign state is separate from Temple source truth. A player-created character, event, relationship, location change, inventory change, or other campaign fact is session data and does not modify or promote Temple canon or disclose restricted, hidden, sealed, or otherwise non-public Temple source material.

Service providers

Information may be processed by infrastructure, hosting, database, network, security, or platform providers where technically necessary to operate Temple Explorer. Those providers may process technical or service data according to their own applicable terms and privacy policies.

Retention and deletion

Non-persistent requests are retained only as reasonably necessary for operation, security, troubleshooting, and applicable legal requirements. Infrastructure providers may maintain their own operational or security logs according to their respective retention practices.

Persistent campaign state remains stored so that the campaign can be resumed. A campaign holder can request permanent deletion through the campaign deletion operation using the campaign's valid resume credential. Deleting a campaign removes its active campaign records, characters, events, snapshots, and resume credentials from the Temple Explorer application database, subject to any temporary infrastructure backups or logs maintained by service providers under their own retention practices.

ChatGPT and OpenAI

Temple Explorer may be accessed through ChatGPT. Information processed directly by OpenAI or ChatGPT is governed by OpenAI's own terms and privacy policies. Temple Explorer does not control OpenAI's independent processing within the ChatGPT platform. When ChatGPT invokes a Temple Explorer Action, information necessary to fulfil that request may be transmitted to the Temple Explorer service.

Security

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect the Temple Explorer service and information processed through it. Campaign resume secrets are verified against cryptographic hashes rather than stored in plaintext by Temple Explorer. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, applicable data-protection law may give you rights concerning personal information relating to you, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection. Privacy enquiries and data-rights requests may be sent to patcoolman67@gmail.com.

Children

Temple Explorer is not designed to intentionally collect personal information from children.

Changes

This policy may be updated when the Temple Explorer service, its infrastructure, or applicable legal requirements change. The current version will be published at this URL with its effective date.
